“It is a feat to say no to violence”. This is the motto of the Eva Social Cooperative which for years has been investing in the orientation and job placement of women leaving violent contexts. Among them is Giusi who has managed to transform her past of darkness into opportunity, into a new life of hope. It is she who welcomes, always with a smile on her face, the customers of Eva’s Buvette, the bar space in the foyer of the Mercadante Theater in Naples which has been managed by the Cooperative since this year.
From Casal di Principe to Naples: the delicacies of Casa Lorena alla Buvette
La Buvette is open to everyone, from Monday to Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and on the occasion of the shows on stage at the Mercadante Theatre. Many of the delights to be enjoyed are prepared by the women of “Le Ghiottonerie di Casa Lorena”, a workshop run by Eva in Casal di Principe in an asset confiscated from organized crime and aimed at supporting the economic autonomy of women victims of violence.
La Buvette di Eva: le delicacies of the day
In Campania the Cooperative manages in 5 anti-violence centers and three refuge houses. Eva encourages the employment of women who have been victims of violence through the activation of workshops carried out in property confiscated from the Camorra. Supporting empowerment paths for the most vulnerable women, promoting legality by valorising confiscated assets, devising new local development opportunities attentive to environmental sustainability has allowed the Cooperative to operate on numerous needs with actions aimed at intervening in the wake of cultural change and the promotion of an inclusive, circular and sustainable social economy.
