ABOUT

The platform “Parthenope” was designed to create two multi-user, interactive virtual environments. The first, dedicated to the Women of Naples, tells the biographies of the protagonists who shaped the history and culture of the city of Naples with a perspective that embraces past, present, and future. The backdrop is the places where they lived and worked, leaving a profound and indelible mark thanks to their work.
The second with a specific focus on Frederick II and the Memory of Women, a virtual museum aimed at passing on the female figures who contributed to the development of a centuries-old history, that of the University of Naples, an instrument of social ascent and cultural elevation for generations of female students.

The aim is to promote knowledge of women's history, their cultural heritage, and Neapolitan feminisms. A participatory storytelling to convey the creativity, commitment, and generativity of women, to reflect on the role of women in the city of Naples and their legacy over the centuries and in today's society.

The platform was born from the collaboration between Phantasya Communication, creative agency specializing in innovative communication and the valorization of cultural heritage through advanced digital technologies with the Women Gender Training Laboratory - DGF and l’Observatory on Governance for Education in Cultural, Artistic and Landscape Heritage - OGEP3 Unina, both of the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Naples Federico II, the EVA Social Cooperative and the innovative start-up GRETA srl.

The project team draws on interdisciplinary expertise, combining art, technology, and inclusion to offer everyone an immersive, accessible, and engaging cultural experience.
