13 October 2025CAV AS A SPACE FOR WOMEN’S RESILIENCE. THE CASE OF THE PALAZZETTO URBAN IN NAPLES
“CAV as a space for the resilience of women” is an initiative of the Doctorate in Mind Gender and Language of the Federico II University and of the Department of Equal Opportunities and Sports of the Municipality of Naples who collaborate together to combat violence against women. On March 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the CAV in via Montecalvario 26 – Palazzetto Urban, two murals for the center will be inaugurated, curated by doctoral student and New York artist, Cat Del Buono.
The Neapolitan artist and doctoral student at the Department of Humanistic Studies Lalla Quintavalle and the New York artist Michela Martello will contribute their time and creativity to the project of the Italian-American student Del Buono by painting colorful murals that will convey a sense of calm, hope and power to the women who turn to the center for help and services.
The Councilor for Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Naples Emanuela Ferrante, who in an interinstitutional agreement welcomed Cat Del Buono to the Municipality services for the practical training provided for by the PNRR, will inaugurate the presentation of the murals. Education councilor Maura Striano and doctoral coordinator Dario Bacchini will participate.
Caterina Arcidiacono, advisor to the Rector for mistreatment and sexual violence, will preside. The works will be introduced by Rosa Di Matteo, CAV Coordinator and Immacolata Di Napoli, doctoral teacher and tutor of Cat Del Buono who oversaw the realization of the day with her: Francesca Marone, Fortuna Procentese, and Maria Luigia Sica, doctoral teachers of the University Federico II.
